All this is the fruit of the work of the OVS industry team, which designs the collections well in advancce, well before they hit the shelves of the stores, taking ideas and creative inspiration from the most important trends emerging in Paris, Shanghai, Barcelona and the fashion shows in Florence and Milan.
It is essenital to keep a watchful eye on the worlds' most important fashion markets and it is in this phase that the product managers intervene. They observe the moods of big cities like London, Paris or Barcelona and try to perceive what will definitely be "imported" by the markets which pay most attention to the latest fashions.
At this point the process moves on to the creation of the actual collection:
the buyers meet the OVS industry designers and outside style consultants of the calibre of Renè Reynes, Jean Elbaz and Elio Fiorucci, deciding together which macro-trends to follow.
Once the fabrics and colour palette have been identified, the choice of the "colour stories" that the stores will present the following year is made.
Now production can begin.
The product development times are divided into several phases:
first of all, the plans are laid for the collections to be made abroad, strictly under Italian control in relation to the quality of the garments and their production.
The foreign suppliers are monitored directly from Venice or through the offices of the Coin Group, the parent company of OVS, in China, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Turkey.
Now it's time to present the collections for sale, the most important moment of the process.
The store managers have to choose the themes that best suit the tastes of the customers of every store, city and country.
This is joined by an analysis of customer tastes and preferences, carried out also during the current season, in order to promptly respond to new demands in compliance with the fast-fashion concept.
